Packet-Radio - What is this?
Packet-Radio is a low-cost method to receive and transmit data via radio. SYMEK is manufacturer of packet-catio controllers which are required to connect a computer with a radio transmitter and receiver.
In 1982, radio amateurs in USA started to define a transmission protocol. Meanwhile, a world-wide data net has been established.
The Packet-Radio net is operated by non-commercial radio amateurs only. There exists no organisation or management. The use of the packet-radio net is free for all licensed 'hams'.
